Christopher DeFinis Obituary

In Loving Memory of Christopher DeFinis

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved son, Christopher, at the age of 38.

Christopher was known for his kindness, energy, and deep love for his family. He had a natural way of bringing laughter into any room and connecting easily with those around him. At his best, he was warm, engaging, and full of life—someone who made others feel comfortable and included.

He was the cherished son of Patricia Flanagan and Steven DeFinis, and stepson of Lisa Bester. He was a loving brother to Matthew DeFinis and his partner Jessica Kemp, proud uncle to Dax and Lina DeFinis, and step-brother to Hailey DeLima and husband Charles Matthews. He was the grandson of Marie DeFinis and the late Daniel DeFinis and the late William and Jeanne Flanagan.

Christopher is also survived by his many aunts and uncles: Donna Solano, Susan Capodilupo, David Capodilupo, Daniel DeFinis, Mike and Carol Flanagan, Janet Flanagan, Tom and Amy Flanagan, Kathy and Rick Finch, Janice and Sean Farren, and Sean Flanagan, along with many loving cousins who will miss him dearly.

Christopher loved fishing, animals, playing sports, sharing laughs, and spending time with family. These were the moments where he was most at peace and most himself.

Christopher found comfort and connection at Recovery Cafe Lowell, where he was welcomed without judgment and built genuine friendships.

To his family, he was simply Chris, and he will always be loved beyond measure.

We will miss him more than words can say, but we carry his memory with us—in every story shared, every smile remembered, and every moment of joy he helped create.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Christopher’s memory to Recovery Cafe Lowell, where he found friendship, acceptance, and a true sense of community, or to the National Shattering Silence Coalition, which supports individuals and families affected by mental illness. ( see the links below for memorial donations).
