Charles E. Hannon of Danvers, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly while doing what he enjoyed so much in life - golfing - on May 9, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on February 21, 1947, in Lynn, Massachusetts, and lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his country, and the many people whose lives he touched along the way.
Charlie was the beloved husband of Linda Hannon (Baldassarre) and the proud father of Captain Christopher Hannon of the Everett Police Department and his wife, Amy Hannon, and Suzanne Poyant and her husband, John Poyant. He was a cherished grandfather to Keely and Alana Hannon, and William and Andrew Poyant, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride. He was the brother in-law of Ralph Baldassarre, Dianne Stratton (Dennis), Angela Jervey (Richard) and John Baldassarre (Joyce). Also leaving many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Mary Ross (Edward), Vincent Hannon (Mary), Margery Davis, Dorothy Fernekees (William) and Alice Hannon. Also predeceased by his in-laws Robert Ouellette Sr. and Catherine Baldassarre. He was the loving son of the late Vincent and Alice Rita Hannon (Souza). Family was at the center of Charlie’s life, and he treasured every gathering, milestone, and memory shared with those he loved.
Charlie grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1964. He went on to graduate from Bryant and Stratton Junior College and Salem State College.
A proud veteran, Charlie served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He carried the values of military service with him long after his time in uniform, demonstrating loyalty and integrity in everything he did.
Following his military service, Charlie built a successful career in sales and management. He served as a Sales Manager at General Electric Medical Systems for 25 years and later with CIS - US.
Charlie's great loves in life were family, golf, travel, wintering in Naples, Florida, and attending New England Patriots games for 40 years. Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of Thomson Country Club and President of the Ingersoll Farme Condo Association. Most of all, he loved attending his grandchildren’s events, where he was a constant and enthusiastic presence. Whether it was a game, a performance, or a special celebration, Charlie was happiest when surrounded by family and supporting the next generation. Those moments were among his greatest joys, and his grandchildren will always remember "The King" for his encouragement, his pride, and his unwavering love.
