Carol Fazio Obituary

Carol Ann Fazio, known lovingly as Carol, was born on July 28, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, and passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts. She was a woman of deep Catholic faith, a devoted companion, a caring mother and grandmother, and a friend to many whose warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

Carol lived her life with a generous heart and a steady spirit. She was the kind of person who could make a room feel brighter simply by walking into it, and she had a gift for making others feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Her life was marked by compassion, faith, and a wonderfully quick wit that could lift spirits even on difficult days. She was loving, kind, and friendly in the truest sense of those words, and she carried those qualities with grace in every season of life.

Above all, Carol was a loving companion. She shared her life with Richard Auth, her significant other, and their bond was built on affection, loyalty, and mutual care. Together, they created a life filled with shared memories, everyday laughter, and the kind of companionship that reflects God’s goodness in ordinary moments. Carol treasured her family deeply, and her love for them was evident in the way she listened, remembered, encouraged, and celebrated each one. She was the proud mother of Lisa Fazio and her husband Greg Schwartz, and Jeff Fazio and his wife Melissa Fazio. She also loved her stepchildren, Patrick Auth and Samantha Ondzes and her husband David Ondzes, with the same open-hearted devotion she gave so freely to everyone in her life. Carol will also miss her adoring Florida Family that she so deeply loved.

Carol especially delighted in her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and plenty of reasons to smile. She was a doting grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, Riley, Logan, Ella, Skylar, Sloan, Ethan, Colby, Addison, Maddy, and Dan. She loved their laughter, their energy, their stories, and their unique personalities. Her grandchildren knew they were adored, and she made sure they felt that love in countless small and meaningful ways. Whether she was cheering them on, sharing a story, or simply enjoying their company, Carol found great happiness in being part of their lives.

She received an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from North Shore Community College, and she used her training with tenderness and purpose. Carol cared deeply about people who were hurting, and she brought comfort not only through her professional knowledge but through her gentle presence and sincere concern. She had a natural ability to make others feel encouraged, and she approached the sick and struggling with patience, dignity, and a heart full of compassion. Later in life, she spent a decade as a very successful Realtor, where her honesty, warmth, and easy way with people served her well. She treated clients not as transactions, but as neighbors, friends, and fellow travelers on life’s road.

Her faith in Christ was a steady foundation throughout her life. She lived as someone who believed in grace, kindness, and the promise of eternal life. Even in the face of hardship, she met life with courage and a sense of humor that reflected both resilience and trust in God’s care. Carol had a comedian’s timing and a believer’s heart, and that combination made her unforgettable. She knew how to laugh, and she knew how to help others laugh too. Her humor was never unkind, and it often arrived just when it was needed most. She had a way of finding the light in a situation, and she shared that light generously.

One of the many things that made Carol so special was her love for people. She enjoyed her many friends and valued the connections she made throughout her life. She was the type of friend who remembered birthdays, asked thoughtful questions, and showed up when it mattered. Her friendships were a reflection of her character, because people were drawn to her sincerity, her warmth, and her easy, genuine way of being. She made others feel comfortable, and she had a rare ability to turn acquaintances into friends and friends into family.

Carol’s family and friends will remember her not only for her devotion and accomplishments, but for her joyful spirit and her sense of humor. She had a laugh that could brighten the darkest day, and she often reminded those around her not to take life too seriously. As the beloved comedian Phyllis Diller once joked, “A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.” Carol understood that truth well, because she used her smile and her wit to bring comfort and perspective to others. Her life was a blessing, and her laughter was one of the many ways she shared that blessing.

Those who knew Carol will remember a woman who loved deeply, gave freely, and lived faithfully. She was a blessing to her family, a comfort to her friends, and a witness to the beauty of a life lived with compassion and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a source of strength and gratitude. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, where sorrow is no more and peace is complete.

Carol Ann Fazio leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and laughter. Her life was a gift, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in the eternal peace of Christ, and may her family be comforted by the many beautiful ways she touched their lives.
