Carol Ann Bernhard, 68, lifelong resident of Middleton, Ma. Passed away Saturday September 10th 2022 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Ma. after a brief battle w/ an aggressive form of lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years John, son Jason, his wife Christina, their daughter Olivia, son Jim, his wife Jennifer, their daughters Haylee, Devyn, Madison, daughter Michelle, her wife Cynthia, their children Kyle, Ian, Jack, Catie, brother Jim and his wife Cheryl. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, her friends were all part of her extended family. Anyone who knew Carol knows you were going to always be met with a big smile and a huge hug. As a teen she worked at the Blue Bell Restaurant in Middleton Square, then as a nursing assistant at Danvers State Hospital until she began her work as in-home health advocate for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. She was always willing to sit and talk with friends and family about anything and everything. She and John traveled across the country on numerous motorcycle trips with family and friends. She enjoyed the many cruises with John. She also loved her many road trips and vacations with family and friends. One of the things that made her happiest was being a “sports mom” to her children, and as a second “mom” to their friends through Masco youth hockey, Middleton little league, and Masconomet High School sports. Then watching her grandchildren grow up. It made her especially happy over the last few years reconnecting with old friends through Facebook. Sharing stories and her sense of humor.
