Brian W. McDonald, 34, of Middleton, MA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Brian’s early life was spent in Somerville. He attended the Brown Elementary School and the Parks and Recreation Program with his brother each summer where he was often the city-wide checkers champion. After the move to Middleton in 1999, Brian attended Masconomet where he played trumpet in jazz band and then transferred to North Shore Technical High School from which he graduated in 2005.
Brian excelled at math and was twice chosen to represent NSTHS at the annual SkillsUSA statewide Math Competition. More recently, Brian used his math skills and strategic expertise to successfully play online poker. In 2010, Brian graduated from UMASS Lowell and worked in finance, sales, and eventually his own online business.
Brian loved cooking, camping, nature, music, local history, and especially spending time with his girlfriend, friends, and family.
Brian is preceded in death by his father, Bill, and good friend, Patrick Maillet. He is survived by his loving girlfriend, brother Devin McDonald, mother Betty Tremblay, stepfather Ken Tremblay, stepsister Alicia Haverty and her husband David Haverty, niece Dylan and nephew Jack, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Services will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, S. Main St, Rt. 114 Middleton, MA. Wake: Sunday, August 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church, 62 Boston St. Middleton on Monday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow at the Sheraton-Ferncroft.
