Ben Vasapoli Obituary

Ben Vasapoli, passed away on July 2, 2026, in Naples, Florida, after a long full life at the age of 104. Born on September 28, 1921, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II during the Battle of the Bulge  Those who knew him described him as friendly, loving, and interesting, a man whose presence could brighten a room and whose stories often held the attention of everyone nearby.

Ben as an Optician built a respected career as president of Vasco Optics, where he was known for his professionalism, he carried himself with the kind of quiet authority that made an impression.

Ben also had a deep appreciation for the music of the Frank Sinatra era, he enjoyed the songs, the memories they carried, and the atmosphere they created. 


Family was at the center of Ben’s world. He enjoyed being together with loved ones and treasured the bonds that grew stronger over time. His family and friends will remember a man who was steady, affectionate, and engaging, someone who made others feel welcome. 

Ben leaves his wife Nina (Webber) of 67 years.   He was predeceased by son Peter, he leaves children, Michael (wife Sandi), Nancy (husband, Alan Nashawaty) and James.   He was prececeased by brothers John, Joseph, Alfred and sister Josephine LaVerde.  He leaves his brother Vincenzo (wife Marie) and sister Concetta Agnone (predeceased husband Robert).  Also grandchildren, Nicole, Thomas, Michaella, Juliana and Jessica.  And great granddaughter Magnolia.  As well as many nieces and nephews.


His life story stands as a reminder of the value of dedication, the importance of family, and the lasting impact of a kind and generous spirit.  He will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
