Barbara Ann Pinho passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, in Danvers, Massachusetts. She was 90 years old.
Barbara was a devoted wife to her late husband, Edward Pinho. Their love story, spanning 63 years of marriage, was one for the ages. Together, they built a life filled with joy, raising their family, and enjoying 30 years of well-deserved retirement.
Barb was a loving mother to Edward J. Pinho and his wife Suzanne, and Todd D. Pinho and his wife Sally. She delighted in the joy of her grandchildren, Rebecca, Molly, and Corey Pinho,
Barbara was the daughter of the late Veikko and Delia Yelverton Karra, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan Neistorowich.
A graduate of Peabody High School. Barbara worked as a supervisor at the New England Telephone Company in her early days. Barbara began her people skills in a little ice cream shop her father set up for her and her sister Joan - appropriately called “Barb and Joan’s Ice Cream”. In her later years, she was a member of the “Red Hat Society” in Palm Bay, Florida.
Barbara was an avid cook, known for her delicious meals that brought family and friends together around the table. A lifelong fan of the Red Sox, Barb never missed a game and enjoyed discussing the team's highs and lows with equal passion. Ballroom dancing was another of her joys, and she and Ed graced many a dance floor with their talent.
Summers on Great East Lake in Sanbornville, New Hampshire, and winters in Palm Bay, Florida, were among Barbara's favorite times of the year. There, she and Ed created countless memories with friends and family, memories that are cherished and recounted with laughter and fondness.
Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the beauty of a life devoted to family, friends, and the simple pleasures that make each day worthwhile.
