Barbara L. Burns

Barbara L. (Doyle) Burns of Beverly, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Ledgewood Nursing Home on March 29, 2024 after a brief illness.  She was born in Beverly, November 11, 1919, the daughter of Frederick and Lillian (Saunders) Doyle and the wife of Ralph T. Burns.  Barbara was a resident of Beverly most of her life but also resided in Florida for 15 years.  She has been a resident of Ledgewood Nursing Home since 2021.  The family appreciated all the love and wonderful care she received there.

Barbara’s family celebrated her 104th birthday in November.

Barbara was a homemaker, raising her 8 children.  She loved parties and getting together with family and friends. She was known as Ma Burns, Nana Burns, Gram and Auntie Barbara to many.

Barbara is survived by her children, Judy Balboni (Joseph), Ralph Burns Jr., Barbara French, Linda Tawse (Jim Connors), and Susan Searles, all of Beverly, Kathy Lee of Groveland, Chris Burns of Delray Beach, Florida and Karen Moore (Michael) of St. Johns, Florida. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Thomas Burns of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.   Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Lillian Doyle, her husband Ralph T Burns, a son Frederick Burns, and a grandson, John Doty.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
