Ava Emily Morawski

 Ava Emily Morawski, who brought immeasurable joy to her family during her brief but beautiful life, passed away on June 19, 2026, at her home in Middleton, Massachusetts after a lifelong battle with brain cancer.

 Born on October 26, 2021, in Worcester, Massachusetts at 11:51 P.M. and only 19 minutes before her twin sister, Zoey, Ava was a cherished little girl whose presence brought smiles to everyone she met. She was known for her sweet but tenacious spirit. Though her life was far too short, she left behind a legacy of warmth, affection, and resilience that will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

 Ava loved watching Encanto and Frozen, especially any scenes with Olaf, and she could spend time happily rolling around on the ground with her many toys. She adored her sisters and loved receiving their hugs and kisses. Some of her happiest moments were spent cuddling and giggling with her Aunt Jane and Uncle Don. She also enjoyed stroller walks, peekaboo with her dad, and the playful delight of having her pacifier stolen by her Gumpa, moments that brought smiles to everyone around her.

 Though her disease limited her ability to experience a traditional childhood, she still was able to make many fun memories such as a family cruise to Bermuda, visits to local zoos and aquariums, being a flower girl in her uncle and aunt’s wedding, dipping her toes in the cold Atlantic waters during summer vacations in Maine, trips to the Red Sox and the Woo Sox games, and even making a telethon fundraising appearance with her mom on local sports TV and radio.

 She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Katie and James Morawski, her big sister, Alex, and her twin sister, Zoey. She is also survived by her grandparents, Barbara and Ernie Powers of North Reading, Massachusetts; her grandfather, John Morawski, and his wife, Petra Stark, of Auckland, New Zealand; her uncle, Frank Powers, her aunt and godmother, Audrey Powers, and her cousin, Joshua, of Middleton, Massachusetts; her aunt, Erica Morawski, uncle, Jose Quevedo, and her cousins, Xavier and Xoan, of Sea Cliff, New York; her uncle, Jonathan Morawski, of Sturbridge, Massachusetts; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. Ava was predeceased by her grandmother, Cindy Morawski, of Sutton, Massachusetts, who surely welcomed her with love.

 Ava's family would particularly like to thank all of her many doctors, nurses, and therapists; her sisters' teachers, coaches, and child life specialists; her extended family and friends who are family; her parents' co-workers, neighbors, CrossFit family, community members, and even strangers who have helped them through the many physical and emotional challenges of the past four and a half years.

 In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Ava's family requests donations be made to the Jimmy Fund Clinic/Dana Farber Cancer Institute or Icing Smiles in Ava's honor, or blood to be donated to Boston Children's Hospital or your local children's hospital blood bank. A private family celebration of life will be planned later this year.
