With deep love we announce the passing of Arthur R. Gregory, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Known to all as Art, he passed away on October 1, 2026, in Kingston, New Hampshire, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 27, 1945, in Peabody, Massachusetts, to Robert and Doris Gregory. Arthur attended the Peabody school system where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Diane “Cathy” Birmingham. Art and Cathy spent the next 60 years together prior to her death in 2022.
Art was predeceased by his loving brother Bill who was his lifelong source of laughter, wisdom and support.
Art and Cathy spent a lot of time with their lifelong group of friends known as Al’s Pals, you know who you are.
A dedicated businessman, Art was the owner and operator of Gregory and Son Trucking. He retired at the age of 62, where he and Cathy spent summers at their lake house in Wakefield, NH and winters in Zephyrhills, FL enjoying golfing, boating, music and spending time with their friends.
Art is survived by his children Catherine Rasmussen and her husband Erik, his daughter Cheryl Gregory, his son Robert Gregory and his wife Michelle.
Art is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Jonthan Hersey and his wife Lauren and son Rory, Ellery Rasmussen and Bradley Hufford, Maggie Fore and her husband Dylan, Carly Labbe, and her husband Jon, Derek Foland and his wife Jess and their son Henry, Katy Miranda and her husband Quiton and their daughter Nora. All affectionally knew their grandfather as Pa.
Through his work and community life. He valued loyalty and honesty, and he was the kind of man people could count on. Whether he was solving a entproblem, lending a hand, or simply offering a kind word, he brought a practical sense of calm and reassurance to those around him. His ability to help others with both skill and sincerity was one of the many reasons he was so well regarded.
Outside of work, Art enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He liked spending time on the golf course, where he could enjoy the challenge of the game and the company of others. He also enjoyed poker, a pastime that suited his thoughtful nature and appreciation for good conversation and friendly competition. These interests gave him opportunities to relax, connect with others, and enjoy the moments that brought him happiness.
Art’s life was one of steady purpose and quiet strength. He did not seek attention, but he earned admiration through the way he lived each day. He was a man who valued usefulness, fairness, and generosity, and he left behind memories of a life lived with integrity. His family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his good humor, his willingness to help, and the dependable presence he brought into their lives.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Though his passing leaves a profound sadness, his memory will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him and to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Arthur R. Gregory will be remembered as a devoted worker, a trusted friend, and a kind-hearted man whose legacy is carried forward in the many lives he influenced.
