OBIT : Anne passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on March 13, 2023 at the age of 97. Anne was born and raised in Roxbury, MA before moving to Everett and eventually her beautiful home by the sea in Rockport, MA. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Barney, and parents Michael and Jennie Carlone, sisters Frances Sawin, Marie Ienello and brother Ralph. She was a very devoted mother to her children, Al and Arlene Masiello, of Wilmington, Theresa and Michael Berardino of Peabody and Annmarie Masiello and Mary Kearney of Danvers. Anne was the loving and proud grandmother of Adrienne and Ben Wheeler, Christine Berardino, Joseph and Elena Berardino and Nicholas Masiello and the great grandmother of Avery Wheeler. Anne also leaves several nieces and nephews including a special niece Laurie Sawin.
Anne worked for Navy Recruiting for over 20 years and enjoyed recruiting all those she could to become a Navy Nurse and see the world! In her retirement Anne enjoyed traveling and entertaining with her friends and family, reading, cooking and walking the beautiful beaches of Rockport. Although Anne was a proud Italian American, and known as Paisano Anne to all, she reveled in her honorary 17% Irishness due to her education at St. Patrick’s School in Roxbury and hosting many St. Patrick’s Day parties.
