Anne Bernadette (Mitchell) MacInnis, age 78 of Alton Bay, NH, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Born January 9, 1947, in Andover, Massachusetts, Anne was the daughter of the late Constance and Andrew Mitchell.
Anne was predeceased by her devoted husband, Norman, and is survived by her beloved children: Douglas N. MacInnis and his wife, Lisa, of Middleton, MA; Edward M. Vedder and his wife, Jennifer, of Chester, VA; and Brian M. Vedder and his wife, Kimberly, of Middleton, MA.
She was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to: Gavin and Nora MacInnis, Edward, his wife Meredith, and their son Thomas Clarence, Eileen, Beverley, Katherine, Natalee, her husband Rafi, and their sons Camden and Owen, Rachael and her daughters Arianna and Madison, Madelyn, her husband Brenno, and their son George.
Anne was also predeceased by her sister MaryLou Hartley of Florida.
Anne took great pride in her decades of service at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Bates Research and Engineering Center. Her remarkable intellect, attention to detail, and passion for supporting others were evident in all she did.
Above all, Anne will be remembered for her quick wit, love of travel, and the fierce way she loved and protected her family and friends. A celebration visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 12 pm to 2 pm at Mackeys Funeral Home in Middleton.
