Ann Veilleux Liacos passed away March 14, 2020 surrounded by family at her side. Ann was a Danvers Townie her entire life. Born June 28, 1948, she grew up on Central Ave with her four brothers and attended Danvers High School (Class of ‘65). She graduated from Salem State College with a degree in elementary education and later from Cambridge College with a Masters in Education and spent over 30 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, first in Hamilton-Wenham and then Peabody at the Carroll and Welch schools. Ann loved working with her students and certainly created fun in her classrooms, especially with elaborate costumes. Perhaps you remember the Easter Bunny or Statue of Liberty designs?
Married to Arthur P Liacos for 37 years, she was a devoted wife and loving mother to Suzanne and Keri. There was never a day she didn’t have time for her family. She treasured her roles as sister, aunt, godmother and mother-in-law. And her legions of friends are true testament to her wonderful sense of humor and her big heart. Ann’s greatest joy was spending the last twelve years of her life being Lily’s Nannie Annie. Grandmother and granddaughter shared a very special bond. Known for a time as the “Window Lady” Ann had a large following with her birthday messages facing onto Route 128. Ann is predeceased by her parents Lionel Veilleux and Madelon Hines Veilleux, her elder brother Richard and her husband Arthur.
She is survived by her two brothers Mark & Patrick and the late Jay & Richard, her daughters Suzanne and Keri and their spouses Brian and Andrew, and her beloved granddaughter Liliann.
A celebration of life will take place at Mackey Funeral Home in Middleton, MA.
In Lieu of Flowers, kindly consider a donation in Ann's memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers MA 01923
