Alexander George, 47, of Peabody (formerly of Hamilton), died suddenly on September 18 th after suffering a brain aneurysm. Alex was born and raised in Hamilton and attended the town’s elementary schools. He graduated from Hamilton-Wenham High School and attended Salem State College. He worked for several years at his mom’s store, Bittersweet Collection, and most recently at Market Basket in Rowley, where he was widely known for his welcoming smile, helpful demeanor, broad knowledge, and friendly conversation. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Marilyn (Matson) George, and his brother Christopher. He is survived by his aunt, Francine Matson of Boynton Beach, Florida, his cousins, Nancie Marin, Karen Higgins, and Christopher Matson, many dear friends, and his faith community at St. Rose of Lima in Topsfield. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 28 th at St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park St., Topsfield, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
