Anthony David Lenzie, fondly known as David, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 14, 2023, in Groveland, MA. Born on December 28, 1937, in Lynn, MA, he lived a life filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep love for his family and hobbies.
He was a resident of Middleton until he moved to Groveland in 2005. David was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He went on to serve proudly in the US Navy aboard the USS Intrepid during the Korean War era. After serving honorably in the Navy, he graduated from the New England School of Barbering. His professional life was marked by his passion for his craft, working as the proprietor of 114 Men's Salon in Middleton for over 25 years. David's skilled hands and warm personality made him a cherished figure in his community. His clients, many of whom became lifelong friends, will remember him for his masterful talent and his ability to turn a simple haircut into a memorable experience. In retirement, he continued his craft cutting hair at shops in West Peabody as well as in Georgetown. He loved being a part of the Black Swan Country Club where he worked and played golf in his later years. He was also an Electric Light Commissioner for Middleton from 1989-2005.
David was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jackie (Kiley), with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage with. He was a loving father to his children David Lenzie and his wife Christine, Donald Lenzie and his wife Jeanne, Nicole Lenzie, Lorry Innis, David Smith, and Kathy Diamontopoulos and her husband Lou. He was proud of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul and his wife Sharon. He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen and his granddaughter Lia. His family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life.
Beyond his work and family, David had a passion for the outdoors. A lifetime member of the Merrimack Valley Beagle Club, he found great pleasure in raising, breeding, and competing in field trials with his champion beagles. He also raised labrador retrievers under the Wills Hill Kennel name. He also enjoyed many years riding and competing with his horses.
David was an avid golfer who also enjoyed hunting and fishing in past years. He loved to travel with his wife, Jackie.
He was a friend of Bill for 50 plus years.The words that best describe David are "funny" and "kind." His sense of humor brought joy to many, while his kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him. He had a unique ability to make people feel comfortable and valued, and his generosity of spirit will be remembered and missed by many.
